Summer Dance Camp

Tuition and fees are payable in full on or prior to the beginning of the first class. Any student with outstanding balances will not be able to register for classes until all outstanding balances are paid in full.

PAYMENT PLAN: A contract must be signed an agreed upon, prior to the students first day. Initial payment at time of registration should be equal to the first of three monthly installment payments.

TUITION REFUND/CREDIT POLICY: All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Students, who withdraw during a semester, will still be held responsible for payment. Refunds or credits will be pro-rated and provided in special circumstances with the provision of a doctor’s affidavit, suggesting a prolonged illness or injury.

CMDC reserves the right to cancel any class with insufficient enrollment or inconsistent attendance.

• Class cards expire at the end of the semester in which they are purchased.

Monthly Installments:
If a family chooses to pay in monthly installments, a responsible adult must come in on or prior to the beginning of the first day of class and sign an installment contract. Your initial payment at that time-if you are a new student or renewing your membership fee-should be equal to the first monthly installment PLUS the membership fees. A $25.00 late fee will be assessed for all returned checks and when monthly payments are late.

Payment Types:
Personal checks and all major credit cards are accepted. Drivers license or state ID number must be written on the check.

Tuition Refund Policy:
Membership fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Tuition is not refundable after the semester has started. Students who withdraw before the end of the semester are still obligated for the full semester’s tuition and fees whether they have paid in full or in monthly installments. A pro-rated tuition refund will be given if a student must withdraw from classes due to prolonged illness or injury. A doctor’s affidavit must be presented to recieve the refund. The CMDC reserves the right to cancel any class with insufficient enrollment or inconsistent attendance.

We are a newly formed group of “intensely involved” parents working behind the scenes on a multitude of tasks.

Thus far we have:

• Created a brand new, functional and engaging website (still growing)
• Planned and hosted a well attended CMDC Open House
• Prepared fund raising letters which will soon be delivered to parents and potential patrons
• Provided for sale - new CMDC logo apparel and bags
• Created marketing posters from captivating photographs

All good stuff, but simply a drop in the bucket - we’re just getting started. The wonderful shows produced by CMDC are the result of hours and hours of work and countless resources. A dedicated group of parents and friends can make all the difference in the world.

Although he has received various offers to teach from all over the world, he prefers to remain here and share his talents with the youth of Chicago.  In 1990 he founded the Bryant Ballet on the city’s North side.  In October of 1997, the Mayor issued a proclamation, officially changing the growing organization’s name to the Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center.  The purpose of the change was to reflect the diversity of the school’s students, class offerings and the diversity of Chicago.

Homer’s inspiring ABC Rap Ballet was featured in Encyclopedia Britannica’s Health and Medical Annual edition.  The Rap Ballet is a motivational piece that uses hip-hop music and rhythms to teach ballet in a format that young people can understand.  The emphasis is not placed purely on ballet, but on the premise that anyone can be whatever they wish to be if they remain focused, disciplined, and most of all, study.

Known as a strict disciplinarian, his slogan The Fun is in the Discipline, The Discipline is in the Fun has become a mantra for his current and former students and their parents and has established Mr. Bryant as one of the most respected teachers in the country.  Homer Bryant and Chicago Multi Cultural Dance Center were featured in the February 2008 issue of Dance Teacher Magazine.

• For Ballet class: leotards, pink, white or flesh tights and ballet slippers are required for young ladies
• Boys/young men should wear short sleeved white t-shirts, tights or leggings, white socks and black Ballet slippers
• Hip-Hop students should wear gym shoes
• Tap shoes are required for all Tap classes
• Pointe students not attending week day technique classes WILL NOT be allowed to perform on Pointe
• Instructors in all disciplines are available for private coaching.
